1992年《Alone In the Dark》遊戲開發商法國Infogrames將在20週年之際重新以現代渲染技術製作《Alone In the Dark》遊戲。
Infogrames開發負責人Frederick Raynal表示，我們希望看到重製版《Alone In the Dark》很快問世。
之前，Eden Studio曾經在2008年6月23日推出《Alone In the Dark》系列最後一部，描述主角在紐約市調查神秘案件。但是，這部《Alone In the Dark》並未受到外界好評。
Frederick Raynal談到了對目前恐怖遊的不滿，他表示，目前恐怖遊戲當中，主角80%的時間用於走路。Frederick Raynal表示，重製版《Alone In the Dark》將縮短主角走路時間，並且盡可能在走路過程當中加入各種陷阱元素，讓走路過程不那麼單調。
