就在《Age of Empires：終極版》新預告公佈之後，這個傳承了20年的遊戲終於迎來了續作，《Age of Empires 4》由Relic工作室開發，而他們此前曾負責過《家園》和《Company of Heroes》系列的製作。
同時微軟還公佈了《Age of Empires 2、3：終極版》，玩家們可以重新體驗到重製版的《Age of Empires 2》和《Age of Empires 3》了。
目前官方暫未公佈《Age of Empires 4》的發售日期，微軟確認Windows 10獨佔。
